TV commercials are often too expensive, audiences too diverse to consider as an advertising option for your business. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use the small screen to promote your business. Just think of the small screen as a computer screen.
You’ve probably seen YouTube videos on this blog and many others. You probably wished you could do it but thought it would be too technical. Listen, if some 12-year-old with a $99 Flipcamera can do it, so can you.
All you need is a digital video camera and a free YouTube account and you’re in business. It would be nice to have an editing program, but it’s not required. Mac computers video software is much better than PC’s, though.
Give it a try. Write out a short script of just a minute or two (time it with your watch) and practice until feeling comfortable. Don’t be too formal, but be yourself. Be sure to post it on your own website, too.
