18 questions you might have

Posted by admin  Published in ClaimTek Systems

If you’re looking for medical billing software, here are 18 questions you should ask every company. And to save you time, we’ve included the link to our answers.

1. How is the competition in the marketplace? Is there room for me?

2. How does ClaimTek differ from other “medical billing” sellers in the market place?

3. If it is easy, why don’t healthcare providers simply buy software and do it themselves?

4. How much time do I have to spend on my business?

5. Do I need business or computer experience to start?

6. I will be operating my electronic medical billing by myself. My major concern is, when I leave town for a few days to visit my sick mother, who lives some distance from me, what do I do? How can I safely service my doctors and not lose their billing business?

7. Do I need knowledge of the medical terminology to start in this business?

How much is that doggy in the window?

Posted by admin  Published in ClaimTek Systems

Well, actually, how much to start a business is the real question here.

We saw a list in USA Today of franchises. Some made us laugh. Some made us gasp.

A Sears garage door business cost $50,000 cash for the franchise. 50G just to say you’re with the big company. Certainly a very large and respected company, but that’s a lot of doors just to break even.

The Kiddie Academy wants $150,000. The Cartridge Depot says 80 large. Salad Works requires $180,000. That’s a lot of cabbage.

Ace Hardware wants $250,000 buy-in. 7-Eleven is $70,000. Even Junk King wants $60,000!

And in that list, you’ll see ClaimTek Systems starting at $5,995. To start medical billing with the best software in the business. With personal trainers. And marketing assistance.

Hey boss, we need to raise our prices. If Junk King can ask $60,000, we can . . . oh wait, the boss is staring at me with lasers for eyes. Thought my skull was going to explode there for a moment.

OK, shop around for prices. USA Today is certainly a respected independent voice. Then contact us here at ClaimTek Systems at 1-800- 224-7450.

Why medical billing is a growth industry

Posted by admin  Published in ClaimTek Systems

Americans spent more than $2.4 trillion on health care last year, according to Health Affairs magazine. The publication estimates spending will increase this year from 16.6 percent to 17.6 percent of gross national product this year and double by 2018 to more than $4.4 trillion.

What’s that mean to you? Business. Steady and increasing business. Not many industries can claim such growth rates. It’s a long-term view, but those starting out now can have confidence that the industry will be there for them a decade from now.

Finding the truth to a good medical claims company

Posted by admin  Published in ClaimTek Systems

The Military Family Network recently wrote an advisory to its members to avoid “scheme” businesses that promise work-from-home opportunities. It mentioned medical billing.

Ouch — no one likes being insulted. But then, we really liked the story because it told its military membership to do some homework when looking into a career.

They said medical billing isn’t easy. You have to do some work for the money. Uh, tell us a business that doesn’t require work. That’s why it’s called work and not play. We’re not saying this is busting rocks, but you do have to put in some time. Hope that doesn’t scare you. At least it’s time in your own home instead of commuting downtown. And it’s the hours you choose to work around your family’s schedule.

The military site also says:

The promoter will follow up by sending you materials that typically include a brochure, application, sample diskettes, a contract (licensing agreement), disclosure document, and in some cases, testimonial letters, videocassettes and reference lists. For your investment of $2,000 to $8,000, a promoter will promise software, training and technical support. And the company will encourage you to call its references. Make sure you get many names from which to chose. If only one or two names are given, they may be “shills” - people hired to give favorable testimonials. It’s best to interview people in person, preferably where the business operates, to reduce your risk of being mislead by shills and also to get a better sense of how the business works.

All very valid points, and ClaimTek Systems welcomes you to look at the professionally-produced marketing materials. Test drive its software. Talk to its technical support staff.

As for references, we have plenty. For instance, check out the “Success Stories” on our website. You’ll noticed photos, names of companies, the people running them and their addresses. This isn’t some “shill” like some of our competitors. You can call these people yourself. We know because many of our newer clients have independently called these success stories before even calling us. No problem, we’re for real.

So thank you Military Family Network for raising some very valid points. Great companies like ours have nothing to fear and welcome your scrutiny.
